For the longest time, I have been allowing fear to stop me from going after the things that I want. No matter how bad I wanted something, fear seemed to find its way into my head and overpower my deepest desires. Recently, I have come to the realization that fear is not real. It is something we make up in our head because we are scared of what the outcome may or may not be.
One of the biggest fears we face is fear of rejection. We hold back from doing things because we are scared of what people are going to think about us or because we don't want to be told no.
1. Who cares what someone thinks about you, be yourself and if one person doesn't like you, there are billions of other people in this world who I'm sure would love you!
2. If someone tells you no, oh well! Try again or figure out another way to get what you want. "No" is not going to hurt you.
I watched an interview with Will Smith. In this interview, he was saying how he and his friends decided to go sky diving. The entire day before and leading up to that moment, he was completely scared. Once he jumped out of the airplane, he felt nothing but complete bliss. He described it as one of the best feelings ever. "On the other side of your maximum fear are all of the best things in life," he said.
When you live in fear you are not taking advantage of the opportunities that come into your life. You're automatically putting up a wall blocking you from achieving your biggest goals. You will miss 100% of the chances you do not take. So just go for it!
Fear does nothing but hold you back from being GREAT. Are you going to stop allowing fear to hinder you from living your life fully and reaching your dreams? What are your thoughts on fear, tell me in the comment section. Also, below is a short scene I put together about someone realizing that she is ready to stop letting fear control her so that she can live her life! Enjoy.
"For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you." Isaiah 41:13 NIV
